Moinhos do D\u00e3o \u2013 Eco Quinta is an old millers farm on the banks of D\u00e3o river. The terrain of the quinta is a patchwork of different ecosystems including endemic deciduous oak and chestnut forest, a riparian forests and river floodplains. The focus of the quinta is on living in harmony with nature and this plays a key role in the way the quinta is managed and the activities that are developed. The interconnectedness with nature as it is experienced here is shared with visitors, residents, volunteers and the local community.<\/p>\n

Moinhos do D\u00e3o (MdD) is a tourism activities business that organizes activities such as hiking weeks,<\/a> writing workshops<\/a> and yoga sessions.
\nThe shaded river valley also is a place where ‘Friends of the Moinhos’ can pitch a tent.<\/p>\n

Our main areas of interest and focus are:
\nArt & Crafts\u00a0 \u00a0 ~\u00a0 \u00a0 Environmental Education\u00a0 \u00a0 ~\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Permaculture (growing and sharing food)\u00a0 \u00a0 ~\u00a0 \u00a0 Hiking<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since the beginning of 2021 MdD hosts the non-profit organization Ruralis;<\/a> an association for rural regenerative development that sprung from the need to develop not for profit activities in the rural context.<\/p>\n
